I have an in-home daycare and throughout the years I've seen the good,
the bad and the ugly truth when it comes to raising children. As a childcare provider, it's important to establish a solid support system at home. The goal as a parent is to help your child feel competent and confident; to help them develop a sense of passion and purpose. The education that happens at home before they start school is what's crucial in bringing up such a child.
Raising a human is one of the hardest jobs that God has given us. The Bible tells us that children are a blessing and gift to parents, yet there are times that I wonder if I’m doing it right. There are so many parenting books filled with advice on specific topics and struggles but as a Christian, I believe it is the Word of God (foundation)that offer me wisdom and encouragement!
Love is the core foundation for raising well-rounded children. Consistency, time, dedication, and patience will help you parent effectively. The goal is to equip your children with the right tools and encouragement, so they have the confidence to achieve their goals. A
few bible verses on parenting and how I train and guide my kiddos toward Godliness.
Proverbs 22:6
- Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they
will not turn from it.
Hebrews 12:11
- No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it
produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained
by it.
Ephesians 6:4
- Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the
training and instruction of the Lord.
Proverbs 1:8-9
- Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s
teaching. 9 They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your
neck.
Philippians
4:6-7
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus.
