Spiritual Seasons

God is the same yesterday, today and forever >>Hebrews 13:8
The truth about seasons is that they change and they don't last forever. The same goes for spiritual seasons. Understanding where you are is the key to successfully getting through any season. What works in one season may not work in another. That being said, I'm currently in the Growing season and though it's unfamiliar to me God is in total control. So, in a nutshell here are 4 seasons that stood out to me while doing a bible study a while back.
1. Growing Season = developing, expanding, enlarging,
2. Pruning Season = to assess, inspect, evaluate, prepare
3. Wilderness Season = drought, dry, desert, darkness, waiting
4. Harvest Season = harvest, gather, result, reap and enjoy

Growing: the season of change and undergoing things you've never done. God is expanding you because he wants to enlarge your capacity to handle what he has in store for you. That being said you could feel a bit out of your comfort zone and that's okay. You're growing and maturing so take risks and hold fast to God. Let go of doubt and continue to trust him in unfamiliar territory.
>>Psalm 37:23-24

Pruning: the season of tests and trials. God is preparing you for something greater. In this season you may need to cut loose of some habits, people or even beliefs. Tests and trials may weigh down on you and you could feel like overwhelmed. Through this God is cutting off your "though skin" like a pumpkin so he could trim, snip, shape and carve you into who He needs you to be.
>>1 Peter 1:7

Wilderness: season of waiting, temptation, loneliness, and sometimes suffering. This is a pretty tough season because it feels like God is very absent, doubt tries to enter our minds and our judgment is clouded. The God is definitely in the background even though we may not feel his presence or hear his voice. We all know that waiting isn't easy and that it requires patience. We need to stay focus, press into his word and continue to seek and praise him. God is closer than we think. He is right beside us in this dark, doubtful and depressing time. >>Psalm 34:18

Harvest: reaping the blessings and fruits from seeds that you planted in the previous seasons. Being "the busy bee" may lead to you feeling overwhelmed and stressed. During this time a lot of your time, energy and strength will be poured into whatever activity. While enjoying your blessings you still need to praise and seek God. He has entrusted us with these fruits so, we need to be good stewards over what he has given us.

So, whichever season you are in don't forget to give God praise. >>2 Corinth 9:10

XOXO, Niki
