Wolf in sheep's clothing

So, last night while watching some short docs on YouTube I came across several documentary on leaders and cults. I normally don't watch this nonsense but this one just tossed the cherry to the side. It's a documentary on a cult leader who claims to be the voice of God. Before I jump into this post I just had to look up the definition of a cult.

Google's dictionary: noun - a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.

- a person or thing that is popular or fashionable among a particular group or section of society.

Oxford:  A relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or as imposing excessive control over members.

Merriam Webster:

1: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious 

2a: great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work 

b: a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion 

3: a system of religious beliefs and ritual;  

Well, it all comes down to this: a cult is religious system often made up of an idea, object or a person that is worshiped by an exclusive group of people, who practice rituals and other religious acts. I'll start by saying that I went into this video with an objective mindset. But during the video, I became curious as to who this "Jesus" really was. While watching this and even now writing this post I started to cry, I'm telling you tears for days. I was so upset, hurt, disappointed and overwhelmed by this wolf in sheep's clothing who is clearly misleading people. 

I know of different Christian denominations who practice certain beliefs other than what the Bible teaches. These denominations quite often have their "own version" of God's word "bible", believe that good actions = free pass to heaven, more than one way to get to heaven, often claim to be the only true church "chosen people", denies Jesus as the three in one or sees him as a prophet, prosperity/ motivational preachers who never preach on sin, hell, adult baptism, fornication, repentance, conversion etc. Trust me I could go on forever but I won't. Anyway, this particular group of people who believe that this man is God also receive their teachings from his rewritten version of the New Testament. The bible aka the word of God is already complete. It was orchestrated by God himself. Why do people take it upon themselves to add or remove scripture? So that they can justify their truth, actions, lifestyle, and beliefs.

What had brought me to tears was that I could feel the Holy Spirit rejecting what I was watching.  I knew the uneasy, disturbing feeling was my conscience and God educating me on how wrong this was. At the end of the video, the words of God poured into my mind like a wave, scripture after scripture. 

God's truth

Matthew 7:15 - Be aware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening (ravenous, vicious, devouring, hungry)wolves. 

Matthew 7:13-14 - Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. 

Luke 13:23-25 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them. Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ 

1 John 4:1 - "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Matthew 24:24 - "For many false Christs and prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 

It was in that moment I'd realized how so many are lost, far from God, are being mislead, create their own truth, don't want him as their personal Lord and Savior, don't read and study THE HOLY BIBLE, and therefore will not inherit eternal life. Knowing that really dented my heart and I knew I had to share this and hopefully educate others on this matter. If you or anyone else find yourself in a similar situation or cult and have come to realization that what your preacher is preaching is off, I encourage you to pleases read and study the bible- bible for yourself. Trust me when I say: " you do not need an other "altered/ extra bible, religious magazine, sacred scrolls, new scripture/ doctrine, or handbooks. Studying the bible for yourself will open your eyes to the truth. 

Acts 2:38 - And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"

James 4:8 - Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
